A Little Note from Ms. Fagan

I am so excited to be a member of the UES community! Teaching is my passion and I believe all students can achieve success. My goal is to foster a learning environment for lifelong learners. I have met 25 incredible students in my 4th grade magnet class. I know the year is going to be full of surprises and accomplishments!

"The Color of Justice"

Our fourth grade went on an inspiring field trip to the Weinberg Center in Frederick last Friday.  We had the chance to watch a production of "The Color of Justice."  The play was about the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education Topeka Surpeme Court case that overturned segregation in public schools.  Our fantastic fourth graders were moved by the performance and had lots of questions about this tumultuous time in American history.  In February, we will be celebrating diversity in our classroom through a unit about heritage.  We will also be studying civil rights in Social Studies.

In addition, a surprise awaited our class as we pulled up the Weinberg Center for our field trip.  Emma B. had a special greeting from her dad's work!  Check this out!
